Holidays with Hotties: Shade

So….. for Day 5 of Holiday with Hotties, I have Shade here.  I know….exciting, right?

AlliCat for web

You wouldn’t believe the emails that I get from readers wanting to hear more from Shade (from Confessions of an Alli Cat).   So, to tide you over, I chose him as my fifth hottie for the Holidays!

Okay, so Shade stars in Confessions of an Alli Cat, along with Alli, Sara and his dad, Alex.  It’s a wildly inappropriate book that was a bunch of fun to write.  In my head, Shade looks a lot like Ryan Guzman.

Ryan Guzman as Shade

Also, this bit of deliciousness (who isn’t Ryan Guzman, but I can’t find a name for his beautiful, beautiful abs.  Er, face…)  UPDATE:  I’ve been informed that this gorgeous guy’s name is Jeff Tomsik.  Wowza.

Picture of Shade

Go ahead.  Take a minute to pant or lick your computer screen.

Okay.  Let’s carry on.  So, Shade requested a stripper pole for his interview.  I nixed that and so I just have to hope that he doesn’t attempt too many shenanigans.  Or maybe that would be fun.  Oh well.  Only one way to find out.

Me:  Welcome, Shade!  It’s so good to see you! And I mean that literally.  *eyes his rippling abs*  Is there some reason why you came shirtless?  It’s freezing outside here, you know. This isn’t Vegas.

Shade:  *Laughs*  I know.  I took my shirt off in your foyer.  I just wanted to see what you would do.  You’re one cool customer, Courtney.  You didn’t even blink.

Me:  *preens*  That’s because my ovaries were too busy having a spasm.

Shade:  *laughs again*  Do you want me to put my shirt back on?

Me:  Heavens, no.  Make yourself at home.  If your pants get too constraining, feel free to take them off too.  *coughs while Shade laughs again*  Okay.  So tell me, how have you been?  What have you been up to?  There’s a bunch of women who really want to know.

Shade:  Well, sadly, my professional life doesn’t include handcuffs and blindfolds anymore.  But I still do use them in personal life.  *winks*   I’ve been hard at work on my MBA and working for my father’s company.  It turned out to not be so bad after all.  This responsible adult thing has its perks.

Me:  Such as?

Shade:  Well, I never used to tell people what I did.. telling people you were an escort would just be inappropriate.  So, now I get to tell people that I work in marketing without batting an eye. Because it’s respectable.

Me:  You know… you working in marketing is a brilliant maneuver on the part of Zeller’s.  I personally would buy anything you were selling.  *blushes wildly as I realize how that sounded*

Shade:  You’re cute, Courtney.

Me:  *dies*

Me:  (after recovering)  Have you heard from Alli?  How is she?

Shade:  *smiles*  Well, Alli is a pistol.  She and Sara are all up-in-arms over Alli’s wedding to my dad.  Apparently it’s going to be this big deal thing and Sara’s getting carried away and Alli is about to pull her hair out.  Sara’s hair, that is.  But they should be used to it.  That’s how they always are.  Never a dull moment.

Me:  I hope hot wax isn’t involved anywhere.

Shade:  *laughs*

Me:  What are you doing for Christmas?  Are you dating anyone?

Shade:  *takes sip of water*   I’m having Christmas with Alli, my dad and Alli’s daughter Sophie.  I’m not dating anyone in particular right now, no.

Me:  Ladies of America, take note.

Shade:  *laughs*  Courtney, you’re good for my ego.

Me:  *smiles*  Shade, thank you so much for being here today.  I’m looking forward to hearing more of your story in the second book of The Cougar Chronicles.  I can only imagine what kind of trouble you guys are going to get into.

Shade:  *grins*  Well, it’s something we’re good at.  You know what they say, do what you know.

Me:  So true.  I hope you have a beautiful Christmas, Shade.  And if you happen to drink too much eggnog and start getting wild, make sure you text me the pictures.

Shade:  Will do. You have a great Christmas, too.  *stands up and hugs me*

Me: (under my breath) Eff.  Can you do that again?

Shade:  *laughs as he buttons up his shirt*

Me:  *cries as he buttons up his shirt*

Shade:  See you next time, Court!  *winks and leaves*

Me: *dies again because he called me Court*

Holy cow.  There are no words to describe how sexy that man is.  Holy. Freaking. Wow.  Even without the stripper pole.

But anyway.  You now have two more letters toward the phrase that you can use to enter on Sunday.   We’re getting closer and closer to you meeting my next leading man… and me revealing my next cover.  It was designed by none other than the fabulous Sarah Hansen and I can’t wait for you to see!!

I hope you have an amazing Thursday.  See you back here tomorrow!

Holiday With Hotties: Cadmus

Wooohooo!  It’s day one of my Holiday with Hotties contest.  Yayyy!

Don’t forget– each day for this week, I will feature one of my leading men.  Each day, there will be letters of a phrase hidden in my post.  Collect the letters and on the last day of the contest, submit the phrase so that you are entered to win the Christmas prize pack.  It will consist of signed Courtney Cole books, a t-shirt, swag and a $10 Amazon card.

Anywho, I thought that I would kick off the contest with my first leading man…. Cadmus.  He stars as the male love interest in The Bloodstone Saga.  He will always be one of my favorite characters.

For four books and one novella, Cadmus protected Harmonia as they lived and died a thousand times before they were finally reunited in the end.  Theirs is the truest of true love and is a story that stayed with me long after I typed the words, The End.  In fact, just the other day, I found myself wishing that I could write something else about them.  But the truth is, their story is done.  I can’t add anything without dragging it out too long.  It ended perfectly.  We’ll be have to be content to see them here and there in Em and Brennan’s story.

Their story began in Every Last Kiss (which is free on on Kindle and Nook right now, if you haven’t had a chance to read it!), and ended with the novella, House of Thebes.   If you haven’t seen it yet, you will find the Trailer for the Bloodstone Saga to the right in my side bar.

And now, without further ado, I do have a special treat for you today.  Cadmus is here to answer a few of my questions.  Eeep!

Just so you know, and so that you have a clear image in your head, Cadmus bears a striking resemblance to Joe Manganiello.  Yum!  The only difference is that Cadmus doesn’t have quite as much beard.

Joe Manganiciello as Cadmus

Me:  Happy Holidays, Cadmus!  Thank you so much for being here.  You wouldn’t believe how many ladies have emailed me, wanting more of your story!

Cadmus:  *flashes his white grin*  Thank you!  That’s very flattering.  My story has been a good one, hasn’t it?  *he laughs*

Me:  *nods*  Absolutely.  Your story is truly one for the ages.  Can you tell us how you’ve been?  The last we heard, you, Harmonia and little Raquel were living happily ever after in the Underworld.  Are things still happy for you?

Cadmus:  Lucky for us, the Isles of the Blessed is truly a paradise.  We wouldn’t want to leave.  We have everything we could possibly want and more.  I would say that yes, definitely, we are still living our happily ever after.

Me:  Well, you have certainly earned it.  The holidays are coming up.  I’m sure you don’t celebrate them in the same way that we do, but do you do anything special?  Maybe give gifts?

Cadmus:  In the Isles, we can have anything, simply by wishing it to be so.  We don’t lack for anything.  However, I do think that this year, I am going to make it snow for Harmonia and Raquel.  Harmonia misses it and Raquel has never seen it.  I can’t wait to see her face when she wakes up and the grounds are covered with it.

Me:  Raquel or Harmonia?

Cadmus: Both.  They’re both adorable when they get excited.

Me:  So, is it safe to say that you and Harmonia don’t regret making the decision that you did?  To stay in the Underworld so that Empusa could leave?

Cadmus:  That is very safe to say.  While we’re nervous about what is going on with Empusa right now, we’re all behind her.  We will fight to save her.  That much is true.

Me:  You’ve always been a warrior, haven’t you?  *I smile*

Cadmus:  Always have been, always will be.  It’s in my blood.  And Empusa is a good girl.  She’s been misunderstood and misused by some on Olympus.  But we will put that to a stop soon.

Me:  I had forgotten about Empusa’s current situation. Her story isn’t over yet, is it?  There’s a war brewing with the gods.

Cadmus:  *Nods*  Yes.  And I’m afraid it’s going to get ugly.

Me:  You’re not truly afraid though.  You’re never afraid.

Cadmus:  *Laughs*  You flatter.  I’m only afraid of a couple of things…losing those who I love.

Me:  *nervous*  You don’t think that will happen, do you?  You and Harmonia have fought so hard to be together.  Surely nothing will happen to disturb that.

Cadmus:  We can hope.  *he looks grim, which makes me nervous*

Me:  Well, I will hope for the best for you all.  I’ve grown quite fond of all of you.  Thank you so much for being here today, Cadmus.  Please give Harmonia and Raquel my love.

Cadmus:  *nods*  Absolutely.  I wish you the happiest of holidays.

And he’s gone.  I doubt I will ever become accustomed to the way they can flit in and out of our world, in the blink of an eye.  But it was very good to hear from him.  I had forgotten about Empusa’s plight.  I look forward to seeing what happens with her story later this winter when the Moonstone Saga wraps up with its finale.  Ooh- and I forgot tomorrow’s guest is Brennan, Empusa’s love interest.  It’s possible that he’ll shed some light on how things are going for Empusa right now, as they prepare to fight the Olympians.

So, stay tuned for more.  And to see Brennan and several other of my HOT male characters.   And don’t forget, on the last day of the contest, you will see the cover for my next project and you’ll meet my next male character.  He’s bad, he’s hot and I have a feeling that you’re going to love him.  So come back every day this week.  Have a good week, everyone!

Interview with Elena Kontou from Dante’s Girl

Soooooooo, during my recent interviews with the characters from Dante’s Girl, we’ve heard from Dante, Reece and Mia.  But there’s still a person who I’ve been dying to interview and I hope you’re dying to hear from her, too.  Elena Kontou, the meanest girl in Caberra.

She came into my office this morning, dressed in a simple pencil skirt and green silk blouse that perfectly matches her eyes. But there was something else that she was wearing that I was totally not expecting.  A scar.

Mia mentioned it the other day, but in my head, I didn’t imagine that it was that big a deal. But it sort of is.  It runs down along the length of her cheekbone.  And now I can’t take my eyes away from it.  And it would be rude to ask about it.  Except that Elena herself is rude.  So does that give me a pass?  Um, I’ll think about that as I start her interview.  I might go for it.

*squares shoulders and looks at Elena*

Me:  Hi, Elena.  Thank you for being here today.

Elena:  *coolly* The pleasure is mine, I’m sure.

Me:  *annoyed already*   When I say the name Dante Giliberti, what is the first word that comes to mind?

Elena:  Friend.

Me:  That surprises me.  Do you still consider each other friends?

Elena:  I certainly consider him a friend.  We grew up together.  Our fathers are the best of friends.  I highly doubt that our involvement is over simply because he is dating someone else right now.

Me:  Hmm. That sounds like you’re not quite over him.

Elena:  He’ll always be an important part of my life.

Me:  You can tell you are a politician’s daughter.  You certainly know how to skirt questions.   Okay- next one.  What are your plans for this next year?

Elena:  To finish my senior year and go on with life.

Me:  Good plan.  Are you seeing a plastic surgeon about that scar on your cheek?

*Dead silence*  I’m momentarily shocked that I broached this subject, but Elena totally deserves it.

Elena:  Yes.  My cheek was burned in the explosion on The Daniella.  It’s healing more and more by the day.

Me:  I don’t mean to sound rude, but does it change your life at all?

Elena:  Of course not.  It’s just a little mark.  It will eventually be fixed anyway.

I can tell by her face that she is lying. She is used to being perfect, so a scar must be life-altering for her.  But I decide not to push the matter.  I was born and raised in Kansas, you know.  I’ve got manners and I sometimes even use them.

Me: Well, that is a relief. You have a beautiful face.  I hate to see it marred at all by memories of that accident.

Elena:  *firmly*  It’s not marred. It will be fine.

Me:  Changing the subject, is there anything you’ve learned from this entire incident?

Elena:  Yes.  I’ve learned to never let my guard down.  There are evil people out there and they will stop at nothing to get what they want.

Has she been looking in the mirror again??

Me:  That is so true.  And I daresay that Reece and Dante learned that very same thing.

Elena:  I wouldn’t know. You’d have to ask them.

Me:  I probably will sometime.  Thank you, Elena, for coming and answering my questions.  My readers will love getting some insight into your character, I’m sure.

Elena:  I’m sure.

* * *

Yikes.  My office temperature dropped a couple of degrees just from her presence.  What an ice queen. As Reece would say, what a complete and utter wench.  Sorry for my language.  But geez.

If you haven’t read Dante’s Girl, you can find it here on Amazon and here on Barnes and Noble.

I hope everyone is having a fabulous day!

Mia Giannis Interview from Dante’s Girl

So this week, I’m highlighting the characters from Dante’s Girl in interviews here on my blog.  I’ve already had Dante, Reece was featured over at Autumn Review (You can see that interview here) and today, I am lucky enough to have Mia Giannis here with us.

If you haven’t read Dante’s Girl yet, let me give you a little background.  Mia Giannis lives in Caberra and while Reece Ellis was there on an impromptu trip, the two became good friends.

Mia looks very much like this picture of Sneha Ullal, except that Mia has a tendency to put colored stripes in her hair.   Her stripes  are purple today.

Me:  Mia, thank you so much for being here today.

Mia:  You’re quite welcome- anytime.

Me:  So, tell me.  It must have been hard to realize that Vincent wasn’t everything that he seemed to be.  What were your thoughts?

Mia:  My first thought was disbelief.  I couldn’t believe that I had been so completely taken in by him.  I didn’t sense that there was anything wrong with him at all.  It was a little unnerving.

Me:  I can imagine.  What has happened to him?  Is he in prison?

Mia:  Yes.  And that’s where he belongs.

Me:  And Nate?

Mia:  Nate is a juvenile with a very important father.  He was put in a juvenile facility where I am sure he will be released from when he turns 18.  It’s ridiculous.

Me:  I sense a little anger there.

Mia:  *Nods*  I can’t help it.  He deserves so much more than he is going to get.  It’s not fair.

Me:  Sometimes life doesn’t seem fair.  But in my experience, Karma always bites you if you deserve it.

Mia:  I hope so.

Me:  Have you heard from Reece recently?

Mia:  She emails and texts me every day. Kansas is apparently very hot still.  And she’s wishing that she and Dante had returned to Caberra for senior year.   The whole “he’ll travel to Kansas to prove his love” thing was awesome, but she can’t wait to get back to Caberra.  She fell in love with it when she was here.

Me:  And its prince.

Mia:  *nods*  And its prince.

Me:  What is Dante like as a friend?  Is he as perfect as he seems?

Mia:  I’d like to be able to dish with you and give you dirt and tell you that he’s not, but he really is.  He’s a great friend, one of my best.  And he’s as loyal as the day is long. I think that comes from his father’s position.  A lot of people have wanted to get close to Dante for political reasons and so he very much values his true friends.  I seriously count myself fortunate that he is one of my best friends.  He’s a really good guy.

Me:  If he’s so perfect, did you ever have a crush on him?

Mia:  *grins*  Maybe once- a long time ago. We were in kindergarten, I think.  But then he took my red crayon and it was all downhill after that.

Me:  *laughs*  So Dante is a crayon thief?

Mia:  Sure is.  Don’t tell him I told you, though.

Me:  Your secret is safe with me.   Thank you so much for being here, Mia.  I really do look forward to learning more about you in the Paradise Diaries.  You seem like a really fun person.

Mia:  Well, I’d like to think so.  *grins again*  Thank you for having me.  It was a pleasure.

Interview with Dante Giliberti from Dante’s Girl

So, have I told you all that Dante Giliberti from Dante’s Girl, looks freakishly like Alex Pettyfer?  Yeah, he does.

Like this, just a teench blonder though.

And I’m happy to have Dante here today for an interview.   So excited!!   *fans myself in my head because he’s so gorgeous*

Me: Hi Dante.  I’m so happy to have you here. Thank you!

Dante:  Anytime.  Anything for you.   (Okay.  He didn’t actually say that second thing.  That was in my head).

Me:  Can you tell me what you thought the first time you saw Reece?

Dante:  Well, obviously my first thought was that she was beautiful. And American.  But then I spoke with her and there was something about her. Something funny and honest.  It was captivating.

Me:  What is your favorite thing about living in America?

Dante:  It might be chili cheese dogs.

Me:  Chili Dogs?  Not the Statue of Liberty or White House or Grand Canyon or Mount Rushmore?

Dante:  *shakes head*  I’m pretty sure it’s chili dogs. *smiles*

Me:  Ok-ay.  I read in your book where you hope that being around Reece would rub off on you, in terms of speaking your mind more often or more easily.  Have you found that to be true?

Dante:  Absolutely.   My culture is very different from the free-speaking culture in America.  Going to school here is an experience.  I’ve learned a lot.

Me:  Like how to eat a chili cheese dog?  *raises eyebrow*

Dante:  *Laughs* Among other things.

Me:  So, you had a couple of near-miss accidents.  What did you take away from them?

Dante: I literally saw my life flash in front of my eyes when my father’s yacht exploded.  In that moment, I saw what was important in life.  Or I guess I should say who.   My take away from those two experiences is that people are the important things in life.  Everything else is secondary.

Me:  *Nods*  I agree.   Have your father and Elena fully recovered from the explosion?

Dante:   Yes.  My father was very fortunate and escaped with minor burns and bruises.  Elena had a rather nasty burn on her cheek.  But the last I heard, she was visiting a plastic surgeon to have it repaired.

Me:  The last you heard?  So you don’t talk to Elena much?

Dante:  *shakes head*  Not so much.

Me:  Ok.  Next question.  And it’s important.   Which do you prefer, chocolate or vanilla ice cream?

Dante:  Neither.  I still prefer gelato.  Your American ways haven’t completely rubbed off on me.  *Laughs*

Me: Then you’ve clearly not had cake batter ice cream yet.  But I digress.  Okay.  So.  Your plan was to possibly attend  college here in the States next year.  Is that still the plan?

Dante:  I think so.  That’s how it is looking, anyway.

Me:  And then will you be returning to Caberra?

Dante:  Most likely.  By that point, I’ll be ready to return to Giliberti House and the family business.

Me:  And Reece?

Dante:  Well, I can’t speak for her, but I know she likes Caberra.  I wouldn’t be surprised if she goes back with me.  *Smiles knowingly*

Me:  There’s more there than you’re willing to discuss, I think.

Dante:  Possibly.   *Smiles again*

Me:  Well, I guess we’ll just wait patiently to find out more on that topic.   Thank you so much for being here today, Dante.  I really appreciate it and I know my readers do too.

Dante:  It was a pleasure.  Please tell your readers that I hope they enjoy my story.  *Smiles a devastating grin*

Me:  *breathless*  You just did.
